What makes a gift company article swap better than a simple link exchange? This question being simple has so many answers. We will ask a few questions and see if you can relate. Please read below:

When was the last time you had real dedicated traffic from a simple link exchange? We have over 4000 hyperlinks out there on the Internet and may get 1 or 2 people a month from those places if we are lucky. Those are usually other people looking to exchange links.

A lot of time goes into link exchanging and here is what you end up with:

  1. A lot of time reviewing the website
  2. Place their link first on your website
  3. Fill out their form (PRAYING after all of that effort the form actually works)
  4. The form some times says it will be 3 days or a week before your link will appear. How many of you have absolutely nothing else to do except to wait that 3 days or a week to check to ensure your link was put up and search through the 4000 link pages the person has because they do not offer a search function just to ensure your link has been placed there? Other times, it places your link at the top of the list or on page 4,234,283,016 with 70,567 other outgoing links on the page. (This is an extreme exaggeration however link exchangers know exactly what I am talking about)

  5. At this point, you would think. Okay, I am completed. I have that one link exchanged. Woo-Hoo. Not so fast. Now come the problems:
  6. The link had too may characters in the description and their system did not notify you that your link did not make it onto their pages.
  7. They did not like the keyword phrases you chose for your link and therefore changed both the title and the description on you
  8. The other webmaster does not know how to properly link exchange or pass Google Page Rank prooperly amongst their website so your link doesn't count for anything anyway
  9. Your link is found on page 6 million and 1000 links down and will never be found by a search engine robot or human.
  10. Your link is mixed in with bad neighborhood websites that you were unaware of when you started. This has now caused Google or other search engines to penalize your website
  11. When you initially reviewed the website, the webpages had almost no links on them. After you submitted your link and went back, there is now 10,000 links on each page linked to every type of business. Moving websites are good for this trick.
  12. Your link was posted on a page that cannot be reached by search engines.
  13. You find your link is being cloaked with JavaScripting.
  14. The website has do not follow tags on each of their links or their pages. This will count as a link but not pass any Google Page Rank (if there is any to pass) to your website.
  15. The most famous: The website link exchange software they are using, more than likely Links Manager, puts your link at the top on page X and constantly looks at your link "webpage" to ensure their link is still there. It ONLY looks at your page you submitted. Your software ONLY looks at their webpage as neither of them have spider searching capability. If their software doesn't find their link on your page it will automatically remove your link from their website.

Well, their software is set to have 10 links per page (which is GREAT) and each new person gets inserted right at the top of the page (which also sounds wonderful) knocking the next person down to the lower ranking.

When your link gets knocked down to number 11 you end up on a different page and no longer exist on original page. This means that your software can no longer find your link on the original page because it has moved and automatically removes your link partners link from your webpage. Guess what happens next? Their software no longer detects their link on your website and automatically removes your link from their webpages. This happens automatically and destroys any type of linking system that you had going for you.

Articles:
Now let's speak about articles. Let us stop for one minute and actually think about what an article really is.

  1. This is a dedicated webpage about your company on a different website.
  2. This article is picked up by search engine spiders and read by real people.
  3. Typically, there are no other links to any other websites but yours and the company hosting the webpage on the article.
  4. This article will be read by real people with enough information for them to make a decision about purchasing with your company.
  5. Google sees this article and sees how many times your name and information are repeated on the page, letting them know that this page is about you. See the chart below for a pure estimation on how much better a dedicated article to your company will help you in a related industry vs. a link exchange or a one way link.
  6. The more information about you on a website the better your own ranking will be in the search engines.

Article Comparison Chart

  1. Non-Related Exchange: This is a simple link exchange where the website you are exchanging with has absolutely nothing to do with your website. Although some search engines count these, they are pretty much worthless.
  2. Related Link Exchange: This is a lot better than the non-related link exchange however several factors come into play whether or not Google or other search engines will use this link such as how many outgoing links does this page have or did you pay for this link or is it natural (Yes, Google has a method of telling these apart according to their patent. Paid links are considered spamming as per Googles patent.)
  3. One Way Link: This is a link where the website links to you however you do not have to link back to the website. This is better than a Related Link Exchange however the same factors apply in this linking strategy as apply in the related link exchange.
  4. Article Swap: This is a dedicated webpage provided by either company. With the correct strategy of keywords and name placing, this article will be known by the search engines to be about your company. This is seen extremely high on a search engine scale and meets all of the current search engine policies.
  5. One Way Article: This is a dedicated webpage from one website to another without the other website having to link back. This is the ultimate in search engine strategies. This hosts multiple keyword phrases pointed to various webpages throughout the website the article is about. The strategy behind this is if a webmaster has multiple websites and they want one of their websites to do better than the others and they are all related You can have website A point to a a different webmasters website while that website points to website B. This provides one way articles to website B and the other webmasters website. Those two websites will flourish better than website A in this example. You repeat this process with website A with a different webmaster.
